What if I cannot get my emissions tested by the due date, can I get an extension?
If you are not able to have your emissions tested by your due date you would need to speak with your local department of motor vehicles (DMV) office.
What is the OBD-II test?
This is the on-board dianostics test. Beginning in 1996 it was required that vehicles that were to be sold in the United States would have this technology included in the vehicle. This technology watches the vehicle and stores any data if your vehicle has any emissions related problems. If you fail the OBD-II test this means that your vehicle has an emissions related issue that needs to be fixed.
